These are the three storyboards that i came up with;
the first is a story using the themes of Garden, it follows the journey of a small character through a garden showing us the other side of the garden and lets us see a different perspective. We always see the grass and plants as small and beneath us, literally, but then we see it from a lower view and tiny perspective.
The second idea used was Ghost, where i had an undead soul awaken and pass on to the other side, the other side being the after life. The ghost not only interacts with Death, who takes them to Limbo but they also see a monster which could end them or make them one of them but i don't really know how id get it across.
the final one was a theme of Lost which was the most vague towards the theme of 'The Other Side'. A man gets left on an island and gets attacked by a wild creature. Im not entirely sure where the connection to the other side is here, i think it has to do with the change from a fun and happy holiday to a tragedy and how the island can be very different depending on the situation.
In the end i chose to use the Garden theme because the Ghost theme is interesting but the afterlife seems to be an easy idea to work with as when you think of the afterlife it feels quite obvious for an other side idea. The Lost story and idea didn't have enough relevance to the other side. I thought on the other hand, Garden hand an intriguing story to it, the journey of a shrunken person and i really liked the idea of seeing the small world enlarged and from a different angle.
