Environmental Storytelling - Library Developed pieces

These are the final images that i created and used. They show case a range of mixed medias of the library drawings some are simple line drawings while other have an emphasis on colour or stylisation.

The first i have already gone into detail in, in another post but because of how detailed it is as well as being the first heavily focused perspective drawing i did and it made use of a lot of detail something i always abstained from doing because i felt observational drawings had to be quick and details took too much time.
Im really happy with how the stair case looks its perspective is a little skewed with mild warping but overall the staircase turned out really nice. Everything else however feels like a complete mess visually. The perspective on the book shelves really doesn't fit to a certain point in the perspective. This was done digitally from one of the prior sketches which didn't look very nice then either. I was trying to find a way to make a brush look sketchy like charcoal but it looked more like children's chalks that had gone pixelated under the dissolve effect so I'm not very happy with it. The books were very tedious to draw as well so found myself repeating the colours several times.
So many books! with this one i printed out a version of the photograph which had guidelines to give direction for the perspective and the vanishing point. I looked at both the photo, guides and the original ink drawing i did. When i painted it i was hoping to come up with something that was similar to The photo realism of 'The Garden of Words' backgrounds, obviously it did not happen, none the less I'm very happy with this one as it shows a really good case of perspective and the whole scene fits really nicely so I'm quite proud of it. It was done using water colours and they worked with the atmosphere of the library.
This was my second favourite for the Library drawings as it overall had a really nice and simple look, fitting my aim to try and get a looney tunes aesthetic from it. I feel that the left side of it is a lot worse than the right side because the lines went a little wobbly and the white colours got mixed with the green stairs. This was done in gouache and then has penned outlines.
This was mostly to grasp an understanding of simple perspective as well as getting used to drawing a lot of books. This was my first time applying guidelines in to an image so it all comes to one point and I actually ran out of space, slightly. This led to me improvising what went onto the walls. I chose to leave it as pen to show the mixture of media in the final pieces as well as to making the perspective the focus of the shot.
